An amazing way to estimate the mileage of your car:-
“What is the mileage of my car? “Is a common question in mind of every car owner, regardless of monetary status or number of cars owned by him? When it comes to the mileage of the car and overall performance, the owner is always curious..
Estimating the mileage or the fuel efficiency of your car isn’t that difficult, if you are sure with what you have to do. Even if you really don’t care about your car’s fuel economy, we advice you to estimate your car’s mileage once in a while, as I can greatly benefit you and increase the performance of your car. If the fuel consumption of your car is considerably higher than normal, then you can assume that something is going on wrong with the performance of your engine, and it can prove harmful for your car and can create problems in near futureAnother point to be taken into consideration is regarding the environment: cars having bad fuel efficiency have a tendency to pollute the environment more as compared to the other cars having a better fuel efficiency and performance, and since we aren’t much dedicated for the well being of our environment, we believe that we have no right to pollute the environment.
The simplest way of estimating the mileage of the car is as follows:-
- Go to the gasoline station and fill the fuel tank completely. Completely means up to the edge!
- When u get inside your car note the milometer reading before starting the engine , this reading is the initial point reading .if you have a tripmeter then you can reset it and make bring it to ‘zero’
- Drive the car usually the way you drive it.
- Once your fuel gauge shows you a half- or quarter-full tank, visit to a nearby filling station, preferably the same one from where you filled up the last time, this will help us to minimize any errors.
- Note down the amount of fuel it takes to fill the tank up to the top.
- Now note down the odometer reading once again. This is the end point of our estimation.
- Now calculate the average/mileage/fuel economy of your car as the difference between the starting and end points in km divided by the amount of fuel required to fill the tank up at the end point, in liters, OR average fuel consumption = (end point – starting point) / quantity of the fuel
- Then again, divide the tripmeter’s reading by the number of liters of fuel required to top up the second time.
Note:-You can carry out the same procedure once with the air-conditioner on and a second time when the air-conditioner is switch off; to calculate and observe the difference and effect of air-conditioner has on your car’s fuel consumption…!!!

The topic about the mileage of car or any automotive vehicle is always in the most discussions & I think we should all have some points to be followed regarding it!hence i will just say that thanks you are making the awareness atmosphere among the people!
